STS Cardiac Registry

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Adult Cardiac Surgery Database is specific to facilities that perform adult cardiac surgeries, including CABG and vavle replacement.

Reimbursing agencies increasingly view evidence-based registries as supporting positive outcomes. Effective as of Q3 2009, CMS requires facilities to indicate if they also participate in a systematic cardiac surgery database.

Key Performance Metrics for the STS database include:

• ICU Time
• Length of stay (LOS)
